A natural beginning can form a horses opinions of people for the rest of their life. What they learn in those first few months will follow them forever! The wrong set of hands at the time of imprinting can form habits for that horse that will have to be repaired over and over again! The right set will create a partnership and understanding with humans that can benefit them and the human no matter who their with or what their circumstances. There needs to be a balance between allowing the foal to be a horse and not causing it to become a "pet". Too much as well as too little handling can be detrimental.
